Torrey and his wife, Clare, have been married for 12 years, and have three children. After working in both the public (municipal law enforcement) and private sectors (advertising and corporate project management), Torrey sensed that God was leading him to seminary in preparation for pastoral ministry. In May of 2007, he graduated with a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois.

Torrey’s ministry passion is centered on the concept of discipleship—that we are designed to live out our faith in community with other believers. This involves sharing life, providing support and encouragement, and studying and applying the truth of God’s word, together. When isolated, we are weak and susceptible to the Enemy who is actively trying to destroy us (1 Peter 5:8). But when we “sharpen” one another (Proverbs 27:17), bear one another’s burdens and restore each other (Galatians 6:1-2), and pray for each other (Ephesians 6:18), we are strengthened in our faith and in our ability to minister to others. And we become a clear picture of the love and unity that Jesus Christ wants His church to embody (John 13:35; Philippians 2:2; Ephesians 4:1-16).
